I love how my students are excited about learning. They are so thoughtful and always bring new perspectives and insights to our discussions. They love to share their learning with each other - especially using technology!
In our math class, sudents love using technology to further their understanding of a concept.
Everyday, my students look forward to finding new ways to solve problems. They are constantly pushing themselves to do and learn more, which pushes me to find new ways to challenge them.
My Project
Our school has recently purchased Google Chromebooks for all 3rd-5th grade students. I would like provide headphones and computer mice to the students. My students love working on the Chromebooks, but struggle with using the touchpad. In many of our math projects, students will be manipulating shapes, and dragging and dropping items. This is much easier to do with a mouse.
While many students are able to read fluently, computer read aloud programs help struggling readers focus less on decoding words; allowing them to better understand expectations and redirect their focus to the content material.
Headphones will be useful to utilize these tools without interrupting surrounding students.
