We are from a small town in North Carolina. My third graders love learning! They are very anxious to learn and love hands on learning! We spend 1 hour on Math on a daily basis. They are becoming great mathematicians and are developing a deeper understanding of math concepts through whole whole group and small group instruction. These students are intrinsically motivated. They seek out ways to master standards and feel such success when they learn a new concept! They always cheer for each other when students meet their personal goals.
My Project
How do you feel when you set goals for yourself and accomplish your goals? I'm sure it makes you feel great! That's exactly the environment I want to create for my students. I want them to feel that pride and excitement when they master new skills. These materials will allow me to create activities bins aligned to the math standards my students need to master for end of grade testing. These include document boxes, laminate pouches, pencil pouches and copy paper.
These bins will allow my students to access resources they need to reinforce the math skills where they need additional support.
I want to create boxes which include reinforcement and practice activities that my students can use to practice the skills in which they struggle. These organization materials are needed so both teachers and students can understand where the resources are located and what to do with them.
These standard mastery bins will allow my students to take ownership in their learning and make more meaningful connections. This will allow them to grow leaps and bounds as mathematicians.
