My Students
Since day one of our new school year my fearless first graders have faced the prospect of distance learning with curiosity, joy, and open-mindedness. Their parents and guardians are accompanying us on a journey that involves learning new technology, juggling schedules, and bridging language barriers.
When I am meeting with small groups it is important that other students have meaningful work to do.
I found Daily Math Practice and Phonics Interactive Journals at Lakeshore Learning that would be a great targeted resource for this purpose.
My Project
While I am meeting with small groups for targeted instruction it is important that all students have meaningful independent work to do. This is especially important since we are currently doing distance learning. The concepts and activities need to be clear and interesting, and approachable enough for students to complete on their own with minimal explanation.
These Daily Math and Language Practice Journals fit the bill as activities that will attract student interest, encourage engagement, and illustrate and explain important concepts.
This material will dovetail with our regular curriculum, and with the content of our small group sessions.
