My Students

I have a curious group of learners who love to read, create art, solve problems and design solutions. They are scientists, explorers, weather watchers, story tellers and writers. Individually, they are unique with different learning needs and abilities, interests and challenges. This year I will be continuing with several learners and meeting some new ones as well. I am looking forward to discovering their interests and connecting them to exciting opportunities to develop and grow, risk and challenge and become their best selves.

My Project

With the simple resources of blank canvas hand puppets, fabric paint, felt, and tape, students will be able to create unique puppets that will become their shadow throughout the year. Students will not only learn the art of puppetry but also character development, storytelling, problem-solving, cooperation and resourcefulness.

Students will design character puppets that reflect what they value most about themselves.

The puppets will journey with them throughout the year providing students a very concrete way to reflect on their feelings and choices in the safe space of puppetry.

The supplies will contribute to works of excellence and instill pride.
