Help me give my students the ability to go Green with green products to and books that will enable them to bring about positive eco-conscious change! The recycled paper notebooks will allow them to investigate, explore, and document.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Dallas is a destination that many people have been to but you never get the full picture of what it is or who it is that makes it the Big D if you don't venture outside of downtown or the convention hall or a sports arena. South Oak Cliff has a multitude of families who dwell just south of the LED glow of the cities skyline. They define Dallas in all the best ways.
They are proud of where they come from, and already they want to make it better, not just Dallas, but America and beyond!
The students here value their cultures, sports, art, math and so much more. They see that now is the time to change their environment to lead a generation to be more responsible. And they need some help.
My Project
Five days, ago a crack environmental unit was put to the task to make their school and city go green. These students promptly started researching ways that they can save the habitats of their favorite animals. Next, they looked into ways to really reduce, reuse, and recycle in ways Dallas had never seen before, especially from 3rd and 4th graders. They escaped from the idea that all waste goes into a landfill and decided to figure out green solutions to clean up the system. Today, still wanted by the best schools, they survive as soldiers of sustainability and responsibility to conserve our natural environments and preserve our resources. We are asking for books that will serve to educate and inspire our Dallas students in the ways of green solutions.
The notebooks will be used to serve that sustainability is not just preached, it is practiced. They will also come in handy as they will record their observations and inspirations on the pages as they strive for a solution to reduce pollution.
