Help me give my students the love of math and reading. Imagine math books like math mysteries, reading about female mathematicians, and the Mayans as they relate to mathematics.
I will be teaching smart, kind, and motivated students who are at a Title I, at-risk school, in a 3rd grade classroom. I have diverse students of all levels and abilities in my classroom.
My classroom prioritizes efforts to promote diversity in the areas of literacy, math, and science!
At our school, we appreciate the fact that we can learn from our differences. The school itself is small due to its location, and state funding is tied to the number of students who attend, so budget cuts were made in the classroom. Teachers have to purchase many materials.
Differentiation is very important in every classroom! Technology seems to provide the very best avenue for true differentiation and blended learning, and my students need your help!
My Project
These books will make a big difference in the lives of my students and my classroom for many years to come! Math and reading go hand in hand. Students will learn to problem solve by using logic skills to solve mysteries. Students will learn about the Mayan numeral system to create their own. Students will read about the women in math and learn how NASA uses math. These math books will be on display every day for students to read. These books will teach about the value of math. Reading these stories will teach students to be confident about math as they reinforce math skills. Reading and math are the keys to success!
