My Students

Our school serves students from many different backgrounds. We have a 50% poverty rate and are a Title 1 school. We try to provide supplies and experiences for our kids. Every year more and more students need intensive one on one or small group instruction to master the standards in our grade level. I love that my students are fighters. They work hard and I am proud of their perseverance. Many of these students have already gained confidence in their math skills.

My Project

Individual white boards are vital to our math instruction. They allow students to share their understanding of the concept and the teacher immediate feedback for differentiation. My students struggle with fractions and graphing. Fractions are a large part of our math standards. The white boards we have now have been used for many years and are so stained they are hard to see They are not marked with graphs or fraction bars so the students have to try to draw these and then solve their problem. The boards that are already marked will add to the students’ understanding and practice.
