My classroom is filled with curious and diverse young learners who love to learn! My students love to collaborate and problem-solve as they are engaged in active learning activities.
Each day with my students brings new adventures and new experiences which we explore together.
It is my goal as a teacher to further extend the love of learning to my students so they are able to not only have successful academic careers but conquer their own personal goals and dreams.
I am committed to growing as an educator, just as I am committed to helping my students be the best that they can be while becoming inquisitive, lifelong learners. I am seeking support to achieve National Board Certification because I believe it is the next step in my professional development journey. As a teacher who holds Masters Degrees in Elementary Education and Library and Informational Science as well as county certification in Gifted and Talented Education, I am excited about this professional development opportunity which will require me to take a close look at my work in the classroom.
National Board Certification is a very rigorous, multi-year process that emphasizes careful reflection on one's teaching practice, student growth and development, and mastery of content knowledge across grade levels.
I am determined to continue to push myself personally and professionally so that my students receive the highest quality education I can possibly provide for them each and every year. I believe that achieving National Board Certification will help me to become a more effective educator and improve my practice, which will, in turn, improve student learning.
