Maximizing Space + Minimizing Transitions = Loads of Learning
Help me give my students a charging cart and bookcase to help us be more organized, allow for quicker transitions and more learning space in our classroom. We are also hoping to add Wobble stools for flexible seating.
I work at a school in a small, close-knit community on the outskirts of Green Bay, WI. The student population at our school is ever-changing. Students in my classroom come from all walks of life and situations of every extreme.
I have students in my room that have specific learning needs in both reading and math.
Their needs require additional support from our special education staff. I have students in my room who have experienced loss and pain that no one, let alone a child should have to endure. I have students in my room that are fortunate enough to go home to a stable environment, and unfortunately, some that don't.
Above all of this, I have students that come to school every day ready and willing to learn, to try their best, and to succeed. In our classroom, we are each other's support system and we are all friends.
My Project
We are fortunate enough to be one-to-one with Chromebooks in our classroom. This means we need somewhere to store and charge our devices. The countertop docking storage cart will free up floor space in our very crowded classroom.
Students sit at collaborative tables in our classroom.
This means we need to be creative with storing student materials. The Magazine bins will give each student a personal space for notebooks and folders. The corner shelves will maximize storage space for our writing binders.
We are also hoping to add alternative seating options for active students. The wobble stools are a class favorite! They allow students move and maintain focus in our learning environment.
