My Students
My students mostly come from low income families. Our district is a high poverty public school district. My students come various diverse backgrounds and cultures. A great amount of our students were impacted by Hurricane Harvey last year, and some students' families have still not fully recovered. My students love using technology to learn, however we are not 1-1 in technology. If we had more technology in the classroom, they would greatly benefit and grow. Eagles should continue to soar!
My Project
A set of Amazon Fire Tablets and headphones for a small group in my class will allow me to rotate more students through a classroom technology center. Students will be able to utilize a variety of programs our campus uses along with additional apps and games that they can use to practice current skills.
Many of my students are on various learning levels and the tablets will help me differentiate according to each child's needs.
In today's world with technology all around, students are already so familiar with technology and gravitate toward it. Technology is a great motivator for my students, and it is sure to help my students improve.
