Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

We are a Title I school where are students are 100% Free and Reduced lunch. I work with my students in Pre school/PreK they are 3 and 4 years old. My students are learning to identify letters and numbers. They are learning their letter sounds, colors and shape.

My Preschool program introduces them to school.

I am trying to make their first experience enjoyable and memorable. We learn and teach through play. We dance, sing and have tones of fun!

My Project

Nap Time is an important part of a pre-schoolers day. Rest time helps students' brains and bodies rejuvenate. Proper rest is needed in order to learn and function. The mats we currently have are over 6 years old and are torn with the foam sticking out as well as they smell and have stains that will not come off. Sleeping mats will be given to each student at rest time.

With new mats I can be assured that students are on mats that are sanitary, clean, unstained, and are safe from hazards such as rips and tears or a 3 year old eating the stuffing.
