My classroom is made up of 22 beautifully diverse learners. Our school is a thinking, communicating, creating, innovating, and understanding-focused elementary school in Michigan.
We have amazing students whose families come from around the world and all of them contribute a unique perspective that is invaluable to our learning experiences.
The third graders are learning to communicate and share their deep thinking and creative ideas.
My third-grade learners know that understanding is fostered through communication and collaboration. They crave books with fantastic events, heroic main characters, and dastardly villains. I've created this project in order to provide my students the opportunity to experience a high-quality novel study.
My Project
I truly believe that children become hooked on reading when they have the opportunity to fall in love with a book. This class set of the novel "Matilda" by Roald Dahl is sure to capture the hearts and imagination of my third grade students.
The students in my class love to root for a hero or heroine against a formidable adversary.
"Matilda" is the quintessential good vs. evil story. Matilda and Miss Honey will win the hearts of my students and we will celebrate along with them when the terrible Ms. Trunchbull is finally defeated.
This book has the potential to change the lives of the students in my class. I am looking forward to instilling a love of reading in my precious group of third graders.
