My students need a variety of math manipulatives for conceptual understanding and a hands-on learning experience.

I have had the privilege of working with these ambitious and fun loving kiddos for three years now. Their tenacity is a daily inspiration to me.
My kiddos face trauma and poverty head-on daily.
However, despite their circumstances, they come in everyday ready to learn and not only take on their education but take over it! When I am in the room I facilitate to their level and keep everything in context. That gets difficult to do when I want to give them the world on a teachers salary.
At my school, we strive to make each classroom as engaging and enriched as any other public school. Help me give these kids everything they deserve.
Now that I have looped with my kiddos for three years, we are continuing to grow and learn together daily. This growth is especially evident now that they have entered the "testing grades." We are building on the fundamental math skills I taught in second grade, such as place value and arithmetic, and moving into a higher order of thinking that involves fractions, decimals and multi-digit multiplication and division.
As we build on our learning, our resources must continue to grow as well to meet the needs of all my students!
The upper grades math manipulative library from Lakeshore will provide students across all levels of learning to continue their understanding of everyday math around them. They will facilitate the in-class instruction as well as support further investigation. Lastly, I believe using hands on manipulatives that students can feel and interact with will help solidify our skills when it comes to standardized testing in May.
