"Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn."—Benjamin Franklin
I want my students to explore, dream, and discover!
I teach eager, energetic, excited first graders in a rural school in Utah. They love to learn! Everything is new and fresh to these cute little six-year-old children. It is my goal to provide them with as many quality learning opportunities as possible.
Many resources have been devoted to reading and writing in education. I want to enhance this by integrating more science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) into my classroom.
My Project
I want my students to be prepared for the world they live in. These exciting math manipulatives will help build my students' experience with numbers.
Lessons grounded in math support curiosity, teamwork, and creativity.
Involving children in math lessons at an early age not only sets a foundation for higher learning but allows them to develop necessary skills for successful careers in the future.
Math lessons encourage children to explore their imaginations, ask questions, and solve problems. Math skills don't need to be hard to learn. These tools encourage students to learn about math and coding while having fun.
Math is an important way to teach children that failure is ok. It encourages them to keep pushing through hard problems. Most importantly, math lessons foster a love for learning as children strengthen their skills and gain self-efficacy when they complete challenges.
