Help me give my students items like a base ten set, magnetic number bonds, and write-on/wipe off flip charts for the start in Mathematics that will prepare them for future.
My students are just awesome! It is as simple as that - just awesome! They are the most curious and inquisitive group of children you would ever meet. They may be young but don't let their age fool you into thinking they're not ready to use the tools they have and apply the new ones as soon as they learn them!
Despite the hardships many have already experienced, these little wonders are ready to learn and most importantly - to take care of each other!
They put a smile on your face and a spring in your step each and every day. Please, help them develop the skills necessary for their success, for their future.
My Project
My young students need to be prepared for Kindergarten in all subject areas. In Math that includes with some understanding of graphing, number bonds, place value, and understanding of quantity.
The key mathematics skills must be introduced early on in a child's life to give them a strong foundation for the rest of their journey.
The Write-On/Wipe-Off Graphs Flip Chart will reinforce the understanding of graphing. The Magnetic Base Ten Place Value Set will help my students see how the numbers are build and the Sorting Circles will help them learn to compare two or more attributes (same/different) through concrete experiences. The Magnetic Ten-Frame Sets and Magnetic Number Bonds will support the understanding of how numbers can be made of other numbers and the Math for Love Tiny Polka Dot will help us better understand quantity of a written/spoken number. And of course the books! Because it's always more fun to have a great funny story to explain Math!
