My 6th grade students are voracious learners! They love expanding their knowledge through fun and engaging learning experiences. They especially love to use technology to apply and practice the skills that they learn in class on a daily basis.

Amazon Fire tablets will provide a great benefit to our students that would otherwise not be available at a school in which the number of students greatly outnumbers the technology.
For students who are below grade level academically, the Amazon Fire tablets would provide a tool for remediation and intervention. Web-based math applications such as Math iXL and TenMarks assess student knowledge and provide practice and remediation on targeted objectives where they are most weak.
In addition, the tablets can be used as an enrichment tool for students who need extra practice or can apply their knowledge in a more advanced way through math practice at higher grade levels or project-based learning utilizing technology.
The importance of keeping students engaged in their learning as well as providing access to the curriculum on a variety of levels through differentiation is extremely important.
Sixth graders begin the school year with a wide range of abilities and technology is one of the best tools that we can utilize to both engage our students as well as meet them at their level of ability. The impact of Amazon Fire tablets will be enormous in helping to make math fun and engaging!
