Mrs. Barber from Lewiston ME is requesting supplies through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need hands-on math manipulatives, like dice, money kits, geometric shapes and place value blocks, to reinforce pre-algebra concepts in Math.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
Would you rather do page after page of math worksheets or practice using hands-on materials? Help our class to get learn math in a more active and engaging way with manipulatives!
My 24 second-grade students are enthusiastic and motivated learners.
Our school is one of the largest elementary schools in the state, the largest in the city, and has a high rate of poverty. Many of my students are immigrants and are English Language Learners. And though many of them face adversity on a daily basis, they come to school with a positive attitude and a strong desire to learn.
My students are motivated second graders who come to school each day ready to learn and grow. They love to interact and work together as they learn new things. The math materials I've requested will help all of my students develop the necessary math concepts they need to succeed. In addition, the materials will provide ample opportunities for my students to interact with each other in a positive way as they develop their math skills and learn to love math! Please consider supporting our project. The math materials from I've requested from Kaplan Early Learning Company and Lakeshore will increase student learning by providing hands-on experiences. Providing students with hands-on learning experiences is critical when learning difficult math concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, place value, problem solving, algebra, and data analysis.
Currently in our classroom there is simply not enough resources for everyone to use manipulatives.
By graciously fulfilling this request for math manipulatives from Kaplan and Lakeshore, you will help the 2nd grade students understand abstract math concepts, helping them to develop a deeper understanding. Be part of a movement to inspire and motivate young learners to succeed!
