Help me give my students extra mathematical support with the Must-Know Math booklets, addition and subtraction, Must-Know Math booklets, Fraction and Must - Know math for grade 2 curriculum based math problems and skills.
My students are eager learners in all subject areas especially math. They enjoy collaborating with each other as they explore and create inspiring projects that require high order thinking skills. When engaging in math stations or centers, they assist each other really well, as they model and demonstrate respect, kindness and teamwork even when opinions are demanding and the final solution becomes difficult. All of my students are successful career leaders for our community and future society.
At my elementary school math is a major concern and a weak area of learning for our students, because students are not taught with a math curriculum or program with a common vocabulary or math strategies that students can learn or be familiar with as they advance to upper grade levels.
My students value their education and believe that they can and will be extraordinary individuals as adults. At this point they work and express themselves as enthusiastic college bound students in their learner daily. Even though they are from diverse ethic backgrounds, my students teach and learn from each other with confidence that building and producing does not have to be one person's belief, idea or strategy in order to be successful.
My Project
My students are intelligent and adventurous learners in all academic areas with a diverse level of thinking and abilities. They thrive to do their best in math in and out of the classroom. Our school is a Title One school, not having a math program or curriculum to guide instruction makes it difficult to keep them motivated as to develop their math skills. Students are likely to be successful when they have materials and supplies that are their own.
Once they are home with math homework, it's a struggle for some to reiterate math skills to their parents about what has been taught in class that particular day or week.
Math is all around students everyday and having a guide and being encouraged with the necessary tools and materials to explore "what makes our world and community" is vital to what will make them life long learners and leaders as they succeed in math. I want them to not only explore the world of learning through math, but to be confident students and masters of what they are learning. Math is everywhere and has to be applied and utilized everyday. Yes! I believe they can and I know they will be proficient Mathematicians for life once they receive Must-Know Math Skills Magazines.
