This school year, I am working with a small group of unique learners. This group of students require differentiated instruction in order to gain access to the general education curriculum. This means that the materials and tools used in the general education classroom may not apply for the small group of students I work with. I work to find the best tools and resources that are out there to meet the needs of my awesome students!
This group of students enjoys learning through movement, music, and hands-on manipulatives.
My class is very energetic and always wanting to learn more!
My Project
Math can be a complex idea to comprehend. It is like learning another language. The small group of exceptional learners I teach need materials that are adapted to meet their needs.
Math materials and manipulatives are essential tools in building foundational math skills.
Items, such as counting bears and the large 100s chart, will give my students a hands-on experience when working with numbers. These materials will help them build a stronger number sense. Dry erase sheets and lamination pouches will allow me to create my own adapted materials. These tools are great for reuse and adaptability. Highlight tape will be used to find numbers in books or the natural environment. I am excited to use all of the tools requested in order to help my little mathematicians.
