Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Intelligent, hardworking and ambitious is the least I can say about my 5th grade dual language students! My class consists of 26 students, 10 who are English learners and 3 newcomers to the country. They never fail to amaze me with their capabilities and dedication to succeed. They all care about one another and assure that every student feels welcomed and included in the classroom, regardless of all the obstacles distance learning has brought to many!
My Project
My students LOVE math! They truly enjoy the challenge of problem solving and sharing their solving strategies with others! However, as a first-year teacher, distance learning how been a great challenge due to the lack of resources. Despite their perseverance, many of my students struggle with simple math multiplication and division. I want all of my students to have the same opportunities to succeed, which is why the products selected will allow me to provide my them with the visual and differentiated learning they deserve! The materials include math manipulatives, math posters, white boards , chart paper, interactive math games, and flash cards to improve math fluency.
These resources will be used during small group instruction to fully support their math learning and provide them with an equitable learning experience.
My students are eager to learn so I must assure they are successful, despite this difficult school year.
