My Students

My students are intelligent, creative, and inspiring! They have a great desire to learn new things and apply their learning in their world away from school. I am inspired by their desire to learn and always accomplish their goals!

My students come from an extremely diverse neighborhood with parents who work hard for their student's success.

I have students from many different cultures and we are learning to become one learning culture at school. I am excited about what this year has to offer for myself and mostly my students.

My Project

This year in Texas, teachers are required to have student learning objectives and collect evidence of students meeting the goals. The graph paper notebook will give the students a visual in order to create number lines, coordinate planes, and other visuals to display their mathematical thinking. The graph paper also allows for organization when writing their thinking because of the lines. Expressing mathematical thinking is critical to their development as life long learners. When students can appropriately share their reasoning, they are thinking at high levels. Our goal is to present multiple opportunities for students to share their reasoning so they are prepared for future careers and schooling.
