My Students

Our grade 2 students are the BEST! We have 23 energetic, inquisitive and absolutely irreplaceable young learners. We are beginning to focus on using our mathematical minds to assist in solving story problems. Our students are eager and ready to go but we are having hard do not have access to enough materials to access our curriculum the way we hope to. It is our hope that the students can explore the wonderful world of mathematics and tap into all their hidden potential.

Our class just loves math!

We would od math all day if they let us. However, sometimes lack of the proper materials gets in our way. It would be nice if we could all have a few expo markers and our own dry eraser to use so we can show just how fabulous our math strategies are. It would also be nice to have some extra seating so we don't have to drag our chairs all over when we move amongst our centers.

We would be so grateful to anyone who could support us in any way possible. Any donation that you can make to help us develop into the wonderful mathematicians we know we can be.

My Project

Our grade 2 uses the workshop model when teaching math. This model allows students to be the best they possibly can be. The use of whiteboards, dry erase markers and erasers are all used daily by my students. When students use the whiteboards it allows me to see exactly what they are thinking. It is the perfect place to share their work. Since we use the markers on a daily basis they tend not to last long. Even though the kids are very responsible for putting their materials away properly the daily use does take its toll on the markers and erasers.

By donating to this project, you will be helping our young minds stay active during our math workshop and increase our overall achievement.

Throughout the workshop model, we also move around a lot. Since seating is hard to come by we often have to drag our chairs for center to center. Extra seating would be key to aide our transition time. We also spend part of our time-solving problems with paper and pencils. As much as we love the awesome yellow pencils our teacher gives us some fun new ones would be awesome. We love our math and want to show off all we know. Any help we can get would be greatly appreciated.
