My Students
Every morning I open my classroom door to find 24 eager and enthusiastic children waiting to come in and begin the next adventure in first grade. They all come to me from economically disadvantaged homes, many having only the basic necessities needed to survive. My school is located in a high poverty, low socioeconomic neighborhood and all of the students are on the free lunch program. School is a safe and positive place for my students and I strive to help them grow into the best little people they can be.
My Project
These new Chromebooks will help my students access math programs from online educational sources like Zearn. With the addition of the 4 new Chromebooks my students will be able to work in pairs, sharing computers and thus learning online and together. This is a skill that I believe future employers find highly valuable.
In society today, we must place a strong focus on Mathematics, Science and Technology in order to stay competitive in an ever increasingly technological world.
