Math & Writing Materials, Along With Some Storage!!!
My students need some really good educational resources that will keep my kiddos engaged during our math stations and my Writer's Workshop. My storage bin will help out with my newly Flexible Seating classroom.
My students come from a wide variety of demographics. A handful of my kids sometimes come to school malnourished or not even having the essentials to keep warm in this harsh South Dakota weather. One thing that I can say about my kiddos is that they are extremely resilient.
Our school is almost 90 % free/reduced lunch, where almost all of the students come from poverty.
These kids coming from minimal resources to having the opportunity to have resources at their fingertips in the classroom will mean the world to them.
As a teacher to my 28 students, I am honored and proud to be able to teach such a great group of kids. These kiddos who have so little are always the first to help out around the school, whether it is through positive words or just a helping hand. These extremely kind gestures brighten up my day and motivate me to give these kids everything that I have as their teacher.
My Project
These materials will be put to good use. The mathematics board game will help my kiddos out remaining engaged while learning math content standards. My hope is that this will bring some excitement to my math stations. Along with the board game, the other engaging board games will help out with our math stations by keeping the kids active while using their higher-level thinking skills.
We all know that having games that are engaging while keeping the rigor high is something that all teachers wish for.
Sometimes writing can be monotonous and tiresome for the kids -- having a daily paragraph for revising and editing will bring some structure and help to my students so that my Writer's Workshop will improve. I plan on using this during my mini-lessons, which will steadily help my students during the revising and editing portion of our Writer's Workshop.
Our last resource is for teacher and student storage. Having a mobile storage bin with multiple components will help my students structure their papers so that I will be able to remain organized. This cart will help me and my students with our newly Flexible Seating classroom so that I will be able to roll this mobile storage bin to different areas of our classroom.
