My students needs hands on activities to help promote learning with math concepts.
Do you remember struggling with math concepts? My students struggle every day with simple math concepts. They need visual and hands on activities to assist in achieving their math goals. With help we are closing the gap in where they are and where they need to be.
I see students from K-5th grade in a resource setting.
My students are identified special education students that struggle in reading and math. Our school is a Title 1 school in a rural area in NC. Our school's funds are limited as well as our time for creating materials.
Our special education students need to meet the same standards as the other students. They are identified with special needs and are academically a minimum of two years behind in their academics. They learn best through seeing and using hands on materials. With these materials, they will be able to learn basic math skills including counting money.
This project will help us assist the students in learning their math concepts.
They will be able to do math hands on and see what is happening in math. It will help us with the small math groups concentrating on each child's specific need and math goals.
