This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My family of middle schoolers are a great group of students. My students are learning about everything from ratios to pre-algebra. My students want to learn and as their teacher it's the greatest encouragement. Our classroom motto: “we are not just kids but future leaders”. I am preparing my students for our state testing and future grades by setting the mathematical foundation. They are very engaged, excited, active participants in their education and I love it. Most are visual learners that perform best with hands on activities.
My Project
‘More than half of my students each reduced lunches. I teach 6th, 7th, and 8th Graders. In an ideal setting my students will be with me for 3 year. That allows me to create individualized lessons that will works best for my students . These materials will allow my students to have hands on experiences with geometry and prealgebra activities. Additionally, I would create math manipulatives for my 6th Graders to better show the relationships between ratios, fractions, percentage etc. which sets the foundation for higher grades. Lastly these materials will allow for multiple years of use and learning in a fun interactive way.
