My students need Dash and Dot Robot pack and set to help us get started on our exploration of coding! With this set we would be able to start in small groups and learn and explore!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach amazing students math at a title I school. I have always found myself teaching the math but also teaching about other things outside of my academic subject such as ethics, real life topics going on in today's world, and piling in the need for more STEM/STEAM in our lives as well. Some of my students qualify for free or reduced meals at school and depend on our CIS to provide school supplies and services for them. A lot my students come to school with out the ability to use phones, computers, or other technologies in their homes. Sometimes going outside of math helps my students influence my students to explore math and even science in other ways then the traditional way. I want to raise thinkers in math but thinkers outside of math as well. I want my students to know they can apply math in a number of ways and into a lot of other topics and experiences as well. We can use the Dash and Dot pack/set to explore how we can use it in math to explore coding, robotics, computer programming, and into other digital platforms.
My Project
This Dash and Dot pack/set will help give my students the chance to learn about coding and all it has to offer in a small group setting. Most of my students to not have the access to such STEM/Technology items outside of school so I would love to offer the use in my classroom for them to explore and use.
Having these will help learn computer programming and help my students become researchers, scientist, engineers, mathematicians and thinkers while in my classroom.
I want my students to be aware of what the world has to offer outside of textbooks and traditional learning methods in the classroom so that they can apply to their future and the outside world. My plan is to start with one Dash and Dot pack in order to work towards another one my mid school year for my students!
