I teach a first grade class at P.S. 326 in Brooklyn, New York. P.S. 326 is an Early Elementary School consisting of one pre-kindergarten, 6 kindergarten and 7 first grade classes. Many of our students are English Language Learners and 80% of our children receive free lunch. Our students, like all young children, love to learn through play, games, and activities. We would love to have some games and hands-on centers to help our children practice their math skills. Hands-on activities really motivate students to learn. Students who struggle with math enjoy working with other students playing skill-driven games. The games turn the math into an enjoyable subject for students who find it difficult. This encourages them to learn in a fun environment and creates a strong foundation for future lessons.
