This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students attend a Title I school and almost seventy percent receive free or reduced price lunch and breakfast. They attend a magnet school which requires most students to maintain a B average throughout the year. The students are part of Pre-Med, Engineering, Environmental Science, or Computer Technology programs.
Our students come from the diverse backgrounds of thirty different countries.
This makes our school pretty special in so many ways. The students all work so hard and are very deserving of this project.
My Project
My students have so many talents and are always looking for positive ways to express themselves. I feel like if I let them take my "boring" math lessons and turn them into video productions they would be so much more excited about the content that they are leaning.
We need a computer and two tablets, cases and keyboard that would be used to record and edit their videos.
This would be a dream come true in a classroom. I would have them incorporate the arts as much as possible. Also then with the computer I would be able to share each classes projects with other classes. It is a best practice to let kids be as hands on as possible and this definitely will cover that.
