My students walk into my classroom everyday smiling and ready to learn. Each of them brings something different to our classroom that makes us a family.
From the minute they step in my door, they are encouraged to be thinkers, problem solvers, writers, scientists, mathematicians, historians, geographers, and most importantly, kids.
Each day I challenge my students to be the best version of themselves. I teach them to set a goal, work hard to achieve it, and to be kind and respect everyone. They know that being the best isn't what's most important but rather doing your best is what really counts.
My Project
These materials will be used in my classroom for so many different skills that we work on throughout the year. From adding, subtracting, place value, and more these items would provide my first graders with hands-on experiences to make their math stations and lesson more fun.
Developing a firm understanding of the skills that we are working on in first grade paves the way for success in math throughout elementary school and beyond.
Through hands-on experiences students are more engaged and are actively applying the skills that we learn about during our minilessons during their math stations each day.
