As a special education teacher creating a new style of resource programming for students with a wide range of interests, strengths, goals, and abilities, I am striving to ensure that my resource room has all of the necessary materials for academic, social, and emotional growth!
My 11 (and counting!) kind-hearted students maintain a strong love for learning and continuously work hard to make progress toward their personal goals.
I hope to create a safe, comfortable, and progressive learning environment that will help my students reach their full potential as students, classmates, and friends.
My Project
My students exhibit a wide range of math abilities and goals in the classroom. Some students need math manipulatives while others require visual supports. Unfortunately, I do not have enough resources to reach and teach every single learner in my K-5 classroom! With multiple learning styles, preferences, and individual strengths, my students require a variety of tools to best support their unique academic, social, and emotional needs. Therefore, I need a diverse range of resources to help ALL of my students develop appropriate math skills.
By maintaining a large bank of supplies and resources for math instruction and practice opportunities, I will be able to help students master mathematics content, achieve their individual math goals, and increase their independence.
Ultimately, my students will feel more engaged with the curriculum content, more motivated in the classroom during math instruction, and more successful implementing and understanding math concepts while using these resources.
