This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Every child is gifted. Mine are also exceptional!

Our school is one of the largest elementary schools in the state.

Yearly, there are roughly 1600+ students enrolled in our K-8th Transitional Bilingual Program school. About 98% of the population are students who are both English Language Learners and from low-income family homes.

Specifically, the students in my classroom are kindergarten through third grade, bilingual special education students. They are students who struggle the most academically and socially. They receive math, reading, and writing services with me. We are a classroom made up of multiple grade levels with cross categorical disabilities. My goal is help them become the most successful that they can be!

My Project

My classroom is a special education classroom with students from kindergarten through third grade in the room all at the same time.

Organization is a priority to keep things in order with such a variety of levels and learners.

The cases ordered in this DonorsChoose.org project will allow me to organize the manipulatives and games according to the 5 stands of mathematics: counting and cardinality, numbers in base 10, geometry, algebra, and measurement and data.

This type of organization will allow both myself, the paraprofessional, and the student captains to easily find and return the materials needed for guided math and math centers.
