My students need colored pencils, scissors, index cards, graph paper and trace paper to be able to have the correct supplies for geometry tool kits for our new curriculum.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are 6th graders in a math class and come from a mix of social, racial, economic, and family backgrounds with over 70% of the students receiving free or reduced lunches. My students are very active in my class. We are always working on projects. I want my students to enjoy class. I want my students to grow as learners. It is hard because supplies are not always available. My students want to be able to learn and grow in my class. "Education is the key to success." - Jamie Escalante. I want my students to feel success in my classroom.
My Project
We are started a new math curriculum and students need supplies for geometry tool kits to use on assignments in class. Without these supplies it makes it hard for the students to be able to visualize how things work in math. This allows for hands-on activities for the students to be able to better understand math.
The requested supplies would allow me to present more projects to my students.
My students seem to learn more and enjoy class more when we have activities to do. These supplies being available in my class would make less of burden on my students.
