Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
A day in our classroom consists of lots of learning. We do a lot of small group activities and a lot of hands-on activities. We would love to have math centers so we can do more hands-on activities during math time.
I have a great group of students who are very sweet and eager to learn.
The school I teach in is located in a very low socioeconomic area. Most of my students live with other family members or come from a home with only one parent. Our campus has 98% of students classified as economically disadvantaged, so they receive free breakfast and lunch. Even though my students live under such circumstance they are still eager to learn
My Project
These math centers will make my students excited about learning math while using hands on activities to learn. My students will become confident when doing math. We will be using these math centers on a daily basis in the classroom. The 3D shapes will give them a hands on experience and they will be able to learn how many faces, vertices, and edges each shape has. They will also be able to use the geometry match up set and learn about the difference in 2D and 3D shapes. When we are learning about different math concepts they will be able to master these skills by using the math folder games to help them review what was just taught to them.

They will be able to work together in a group and learn from each other. These math centers will help them master different concepts and be successful in second grade. These centers are a way to have fun and learn at the same time.
