Math & Technology- Help Support Our Innovative Learning!
My students need a Lenovo Laptop to complete online math practice through interactive technology. This will help support their daily math lessons, and help give them a solid foundation to prepare for their state testing.
Our students come from a variety of backgrounds. We are a Title I school; the type of school where students, parents, and teachers feel at home.
The majority of our students are on Free/Reduced Lunch (76.8%) Our demographic has changed so much over the last several years.
We work really hard to make our school a community. Our students in 6th grade are on a team of 4 teachers. The students are still housed in elementary school, but due to our curriculum being middle school based, we departmentalized in order to give our students a well rounded curriculum. The students love it, and the teachers love it. We have our homeroom students every day for about 1 1/2 hours total and this is where we give additional support in math, reading and any subjects they need support in.
All of my students may be in the same classroom, but they are not the same. Many students are quite successful in math, and others need a lot of support.
My Project
My students jump at every chance they can to use technology for learning. This Lenovo laptop will help my students with online educational learning in the area of math application. On a daily basis, students are given an opportunity to use technology to support their math skills, especially during our homeroom part of the day where they have extra time for learning. My students absolutely love being able to access online math practices through Prodigy, Cool Math and even Free Rice. The first thing they ask is to go on the computer for math games. With an additional laptop my students will be that much closer to being successful in their learning and practicing. These materials will make such a difference in my student's learning, because they will be able to practice math skills in a fun way, they love learning through technology
