My Students

My class consists of 21 students who come from different socioeconomic situations, who lack experience with technology. These students are struggling with basic math facts.

My students come to school with good attitudes and want to learn.

One thing is they want to learn but lack experience with technology. My students love to use technology rather than paper to practice their facts. They would rather use technology to practice their math facts. If we have these hand held devices they would be more willing to practice their math facts.

My Project

My students need the Mathshark Electronic Games and a LaserJet color printer to practice math fact fluency. Daily we practice math facts using paper pencil strategies. Math facts would motivate students to learn their math facts. It's pertinent for students to become proficient in their math facts. The math sharks will provide a fun way to practice what could be a monotonous task of learning basic math facts. These games will give them a video game like feeling. I would also like a colored printer to give my students to a chance to have colored copies of math vocabulary promote vocabulary proficiency. Fact and vocabulary fluency is fundamental to learning core math concepts. Please give my students the opportunity to learn in a more engaging way. Your donations will support their foundations in math.

My students need more technology in my classroom, that is why the math sharks and the colored printer would be essential for math fact and vocabulary fluency.
