This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are about to dive into the world of 5th grade math! They are eager learners and I want to make math fun, engaging, and exciting for them. Math can oftentimes be one of the more challenging content areas for my students and being able to put language behind their strategies is important! We are a Title I, inner city school and our entire school qualifies for a program that allows all students to get free breakfast and lunch. My students deserve to see themselves as expert mathematicians!

My Project

This document camera will help me to show students how to use some of our hands-on materials live on the SmartBoard screen. It will also let me show them how to work problems out on worksheets, task cards, projects, etc. I can also model how to complete our brand new interactive notebooks! Our scissors will also help us to be able to complete our interactive notes!

Our students will have creative and interesting ways to study using these notebooks.

Some students cannot afford to bring school supplies such as scissors so I like to have class sets available to them whenever I can!
