This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are part of a rural community and many come from low income backgrounds. Many of them have experienced struggles in their educational pursuits, particularly in their math education. As high school students, these struggles may be magnified but we work daily to overcome the challenges and prepare them for future success. I believe they are bright minds with great potential. I believe they are capable of achieving even if they may have to work harder to close the gaps and be successful.

My Project

My students are working hard to master the difficult concepts of high school math. The students are in need of the tools and resources that will help them to be successful. For our class, that includes calculators for our classroom!

While we have some, we do not currently have enough calculators for all of our students to use.

The calculators included in this project will help us better meet that need. Many of our students come from low income households and they do not always have the supplies they need for schoolwork. But with your help, all of our students can have the tools needed to be successful in their math studies.
