We are a Responsive Classroom class! We begin our day with a morning meeting and end our day with a closing meeting. My students are learning to be socially and educationally ready for the world! We need current event information to explore the world around us.
I teach at a K-8 school of over 1200 students ranging in age from 4 to 13.
We were built to hold 800 students and are bursting at the seams. Teachers are teaching on the stage and in workrooms. We have lost our computer lab and our science lab, and PE has been pushed outside. All subjects are taught in the classroom with very limited resources.
My students are amazing. I have over 7 different home languages spoken in my class. My students are from many different backgrounds. We celebrate diversity!
My Project
My students need 135 subscriptions to TIME for Kids, math and vocabulary games, and foam number dice. Students need to know what is happening in the world around them. TIME For Kids allows students the opportunity to read about current events at their current reading level. Students have the chance to see how people, technology, and the world in changing. Students also get to read articles written by other students and learn more about the world around them.
Common Core math and phonics games will allow my students the chance to work on grade level math problems and phonics in a group setting. My grade level uses Responsive Classroom. We need materials to help begin and end our day using the Responsive Classroom model. Students will enjoy getting to learn more about themselves, their classmates, and the world around them.
My students love to learn.
They are all at different levels, and we need materials that can help diversify our learning. We want to be up-to-date with math, science, language arts and technology. These materials will really help my classroom and increase learning. My students need hands-on materials for our Common Core classroom and TIMR For Kids so they have up-to-date news on what's going on in the world.
