My students are amazing little learners! The students come from various cultures and live in an inner city that is poverty stricken. They receive free breakfast, lunch, and snack. Their love of learning is inspirational.
Most students are coming into PreK not speaking any English at all, but I am positive that I am able to blossom their English Language skills as well as their Math and Science skills.
These little learners amaze themselves and get so excited when they are able to identify numbers, count, sort objects, and problem solve independently. They love to watch things work and try to figure out "how that did that."
These munchkins are known to grow so much throughout the school year academically, social-emotionally, and through the love for one another. Every student embraces their opportunity to learn at any given moment. These children are our future and they are given every opportunity throughout our day to learn all that they can.
My Project
The "How tall am I?" and "How much does it hold?" are activities that will allow the students to learn different measuring techniques. These are hands on and engaging activities for the students.
STEM activities such as the Building Brick STEM Challenge are very important for these little learners as they make the students think and problem solve, which are vital skills needed in the real world.
By providing these activities for the students it will give them a foundation of the basic skills that they will build upon throughout their educational years.
These are age appropriate materials that the students will enjoy learning from.
