Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I serve in a school which all students are on the free lunch program. Of my five classes, three are achieving below grade level. I was hired in January with the hopes of helping them improve their scores. Many of my students wear the same clothes every day.

Many of them desire to improve and we are working hard to see the results desired.

They are full of life and love to learn new things. I am excited about their enthusiasm to learn in class.

My Project

Group work is some of the best way to keep entire class engaged. This allows students to work with me and show answers to individual problems. I want individual whiteboards so students will stay more engaged during class demonstration time.

We do a lot of board work and this allows everyone to work on board at same time.

Students will be able to stay more engaged as I am teaching and working examples on the board.

Because of the low level of student all students will feel better about themselves but not working in front of everyone but still able to work on board then show answers to me. This would take my class to a new level.
