My Project

I have the privilege of teaching special education students in Hawaii. Covid had a tremendously deleterious effect on all students, especially special education students. My students struggle to get to school on time and often forget to collect their school-issued iPads before coming to class. Since the school does not have enough iPads to issue extras, students who forget or lose their iPads cannot access the online curriculum. Since our school uses an online curriculum for math, when students don't have their iPad, they miss out on lessons for the day. Having an iPad in class will allow me to have an iPad for students to use when they forget theirs. Using sensory toys in class will also help my distracted students focus without leaving their seats or using their school supplies as improvised toys. Covid has caused significant stress in the lives of my students. Help me reduce their stress by increasing classroom resources.
