My Students

My students are full of energy and a want to learn and explore the world of math that is around them. They enter class everyday, say a quick hello to our class fish, and get started with their tasks - grabbing their materials, and making sure they are prepared for the day ahead of them.

These students come from a wide variety of family backgrounds affected by the fluctuating economy in our small, rural, oil town.

Our students are affected by lots of different environmental aspects, but they all come to school to be social, learn new things, and above all else have a safe place where it doesn't matter who they are or who their families are.

My Project

We need some better organization tools to help with keeping practice in an easily accessible throughout each class. We are also in need of some more practice activities to help with math fluency. These will allow my students to practice hard to grasp concepts, while keeping our classroom organized and easily available throughout the day. Several of these items help complete other projects that we have started in class, and also re-fill supplies that are need to keep our classroom running smoothly. I aim to help bring math to our classroom in multiple ways.
