Help me give my students the opportunity to have organized and color-coordinated homework. Students will be able to keep an organized graphic organizer and will be able to cut and add color to organizers to keep engagement.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students, residents of Washington, DC are sixth and seventh graders that are naturally curious and come equipped with a world of opinions and knowledge. They enjoy math, and my goal as their teacher is to provide an experience that will sustain that comfort in mathematics.
My students are fun, curious about life, and uniquely smart in their rights.
I love teaching math, and I love molding the mathematical minds of our future. Every day is an adventure in 6th and 7th-grade math, no two days are ever the same!
My Project
This year as I am teaching 6th and 7th grade, I would like for my students to keep an organized interactive notebook. They will work in small groups and create graphic organizers that serve as a reference as students study and practice for quizzes and well as preparation for PARCC.
Students will use color pencils and scissors to take notes and create and organize notes.
I would also like to organize homework on color paper in order to make it stand out to reduce the number of students not turning in homework. If you see a bright paper, it must be important.
