We are a pre-k through first, Title One elementary school in a low-income area. Approximately half of the children in our school receive free or reduced-cost breakfast and lunch at school. Despite many of their difficulties at home, they are eager to come to school and learn everyday!
My goal is to keep my students focused and as excited about learning all throughout the school year as they were the very first day.
I am always looking to provide students with creative and meaningful learning experiences. They are enthusiastic learners and with our love and support, they will rise above their challenges and become productive and contributing citizens!
My Project
These math activities will help my students develop number sense and learn important math skills. They will help them learn many different early number concepts so that they are able to grow in their math knowledge in a hands-on way.
Children need a strong number sense in order to be successful in math.
With these materials, the students will learn math by being engaged in activities while developing their number sense.
There are many ways to engage students in order to help them learn a concept. My favorite way is to give them access to activities and games they enjoy doing. When students enjoy the activity, they learn a lot of skills to take into many other areas of their life.
