Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Each of my students come from a different background and socio-economic status. However, all of my students have one thing in common, they love to learn. I want to provide them with experiences that will help them become lifetime learners, both in the classroom and outside of the classroom. School should be a place where students are excited to come, and are wanting to learn through different ways. One of the most important goals as a teacher is to make sure my students have the opportunities to experience learning through different ways.
My Project
As many know, students learn in different ways; some are are visual, auditory, linguistic, and my own personal kinesthetic learners. Having math centers will allow for all students to use their different learning styles. Centers allow the students to to move around, see the materials, listen to instructions, read the activities, and even has the students use their hands to use materials.
My students love having our Daily Five centers for reading.
Allowing student to have math centers would encourage them to become more engaged in math. Each center will be cherished and used by students in my class for many years to come.
