Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach a group of twenty-four, third graders that are passionate about learning. Our school received a Gold Ribbon in three categories! Our school has a diverse population with the majority of our students coming from low-income families.
We strive to close the achievement gap at our school and we are succeeding.
We have high expectations of our students and they work hard to reach them. We promote the importance of college through the No Excuses University network. Our classroom represents NYU.
My Project
The students will be actively engaged in solving a series of math questions, and if they answer them correctly, they will be given clues to solve the mystery. Once they complete the five missions, they will unscramble the letters to solve the mystery.
Our students will be surprised as they walk into our classroom to find that it has been transformed into a spy lab.
As they enter, they will have to scan their fingerprint on an iPad to make sure they are not a spy. The students will complete a top secret mission to crack the codes and solve the mystery.
