No thanks to Hurricane Harvey, my students started the school year without a classroom. They have moved to multiple locations, while trying to maintain normalcy within the selected room we are working out of.
My 5th grade grade math students are dealing with a lot this school year; many are still displaced and lacking the security and familiarity of a stable home.
With over half of my students qualifying as low socioeconomic, they enjoy being away from a soiled home and the financial struggles that come with it.

My Project
The presentation cart will be used to house the document camera. It will also allow me to present visual lessons with working examples for the entire class to see. Students will also be able to show their work to the whole class via the camera.
Additionally, the Hot Dots will make practicing what they have learned entertaining and effective.
Students simply solve the provided problem and select their answer choice. The Hot Dots pen will let them know if they were correct. It allows students to self-check their answers, building positive self esteem and success.
The use of technology keeps my students and I organized, accountable, and motivated during these trying times.
