Count Addition) to develop their number recognition and addition skills. These will be used during our whole group and individual group instruction.

My students are a lively and diverse bunch of four, five, and six year old children who love to learn.
We have students from many different backgrounds and cultures. Every year I am amazed to tears at how they can form such a bond with one another. We really become a family in a short time. About half of my students receive free and reduced lunch while the other half bring sushi in fancy lunch boxes. Some of my children have bows in their hair every day that match the color of their shirt. While others wear clothes that are too big and not clean. Our school works hard to bridge gaps like these and create a school community that is positive and accepting.
My Project
My students need math manipulatives (Count and Compare, Ten Frames, and Slide and
Count Addition) to develop their number recognition and addition skills. I am requesting the hands on math manipulative's which will be used during our whole group and small group instruction time, as well as individual practice time to reinforce the skills presented from the common core standards. Some of our students do not have a time our resources outside of school to practice these math skills taught in class. This will help each of the students fully grasp these skills. These activities would enhance my instruction and give my students a fun "game like" approach to learning essential math skills.
