My students need hands-on materials to use in math centers. These materials include linking blocks, ten frames and geometric shapes among others.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
In my classroom, a typical day consists of reading groups, computer time and as many hands-on activities as can be incorporated. One of my favorite quotes is "You never want to get on a plane where the pilot learned to fly from worksheets." This reminds me that in order to actually learn, one must do.
My school is very diverse but each student is willing and capable of learning.
They just need to be given the correct tools and accurate instruction. In my school, we are devoted to teaching in a way which will help the students retain the information instead of just having them practice for a certain test. We love to foster the love for learning and helping others to learn.
My Project
Because I am a fairly new teacher, I don't have as many resources as I would like to have. This is my second year teaching and the majority of the manipulative materials that we use in my class are borrowed. If I were able to get these puzzles, blocks and other materials I would be able to work with my students freely and for as long as we need to.
Any donations to this project will improve my classroom because I will be able give my students more involved activities.
The students will be able to retain information they learn while practicing hands-on projects. I am sure this will help create motivated life-long learners.
